KEVIN’S practice focuses primarily in criminal defense, complex civil litigation and professional negligence. Kevin is admitted to practice in Washington State and California.
Awards/Honors: Kevin has been named one of Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Washington State by the National Trial Lawyers. Criminal Practice: Kevin’s 32 years of criminal defense experience includes some of Spokane’s highest profile cases including the successful defenses of Joseph Andrews in a double homicide death penalty case, Wallace Jones, Spokane’s first “mercy killing” case, the Valley View fire suspect and the representation of Don Van Lierop, the Ferris High School basketball coach falsely accused of sexual misconduct. Kevin is the President of the Washington Defenders Association and Past President of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Civil Practice: Kevin has represented clients, including Fortune 500 companies in broad areas of commercial and business litigation, professional negligence and discipline, and class action lawsuits. He has obtained jury verdicts and settlements in excess of a million dollars on plaintiff cases and has obtained defense verdicts in multimillion dollar lawsuits.
Background: A firm principal since 1997, Kevin joined Winston & Cashatt in 1996. Prior to this he was at Spokane County where he was a Senior Attorney.
