Don Gary is an inactive CPA as well as an attorney. His practice focuses on tax and transactional issues. He is admitted to practice in the state courts in Washington and California, the United States Tax Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has represented clients in matters before the US Tax Court and Internal Revenue Service as well as numerous state and local taxing authorities.

Don has extensive experience in tax and transactional matters including tax planning, tax controversies, estate planning, estate and trust administration, entity formation, private mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues and general business matters.

Tax Planning and Controversies
Provides advice concerning tax strategies available to meet client objectives and represents clients before various tax authorities including the IRS, state and local tax boards.

Estate Planning and Administration
Assists clients with sophisticated estate planning, probate and trust administration issues. Represents both fiduciaries and beneficiaries with respect to their rights and obligations.

Business Planning, Entity Selection, Mergers and Acquisitions
Represents clients in the formation, transfer, dissolution and transfer of business entities including partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, business trusts and limited liability partnerships with a special emphasis on tax consequences, risk management, regulatory compliance and wealth preservation.

Prior to joining Winston & Cashatt, Don was principal in his own law firm from 1995 through 2005 with offices in Spokane and Orange County, California.
